The legendary place Holmenkollen, which has hosted two World Championships in ski jumping and Winter Olympics, is now a luxury penthouse. The company which was founded in San Francisco, is the company for interior design on the apartment located on the highest level jumps. In addition, guests enjoy in one of the most beautiful views of Oslo. This penthouse includes the world’s first ski museum which is located on the first floor. In this museum, guests learn about the history of skiing, and the adventures of the polar explorers.
The start house soars around 64 meters above the ground and includes 100 tons of steel. To arrive at the penthouse you must travel to the top by a ski lift, and guests can even zip-line out on the exit. The decor is a typical Norwegian design and includes a double bed and chairs, lamps and a dining table. Jeanette Hansen, in charge of operations at Holmenkollen, said: ‘This is a wonderfully quirky idea coming to life, and we can’t wait to welcome the guests to arguably the penthouse with the best view of our city’.
The Holmenkollen ski jump was officially opened on March 3 in 2010 and you must know that The penthouse was used by ski jumpers for the annual Holmenkollen Ski Festival and World Cup competition that runs from March 13-15.
